15 Blog Post Content Ideas For A Small Business
So, you know that maintaining an active blog is a great tool for your business. You’re keen to get typing away, but you’re struggling for ideas. You’ve hit a dead-end, a blank page, a hypothetical copywriter’s wall. You’ve got the dreaded writer’s block!
I’m here to help. I’ve got plenty of content ideas for your blog post up my sleeve. I shall assign myself your copywriting fairy Godmother (without the wings, glam dress but with plenty of writing pizzazz)!
Before we get stuck in, it’s worth noting that your topic does not need to be directly related to your industry or niche.
”I’ve run out of content ideas, can you help?”, and “I just don’t know what to write!” are some of the most popular questions or statements that I get sent — you’re certainly not alone.
One of the first pieces of advice I give is to really consider your ideal audience. Who are you wanting to attract? What topics do they like to read? How can I encourage them to visit my site? Really get into the head of your wishlist audience.
Where do they live, is location important? Could you write a blog post on your favourite cafes in the area, or your top local walks to attract local customers?
What other interests do they have? Are you a candle or wall art business - then it’s likely that your ideal customer is also interested in interior design and home decor! Why not collocate with an interior designer or home account to write a post together. Or research upcoming seasonal trends and get this down in a blog post.
Jewellery businesses’, create a post on how to style your pieces, focus on your ideal customers style (boho? minamilistic? bold?) and write a blog post focusing on their style.
Acupuncture businesses’, don’t just restrict yourself to writing about the benefits of acupuncture, put yourself in your ideal customers shoes: what are their struggles? why might they be hesitant to try acupuncture for the first time, how can you reassure them? Answer frequently asked questions, this is helpful and shows that you understand and empathise with your customer. Discuss other great holistic therapies, how do you differ? Which therapies complement one another?
